Shell customization on Centos 7.x – ohmyzsh

Step-1: Install and update packages

sudo yum update
sudo yum install zsh git lsof -y

Step-2: Install oh-my-zsh

sh -c "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.github.com/robbyrussell/oh-my-zsh/master/tools/install.sh)"

Step-3: Install PowerLevel9k package

cd ~
git clone https://github.com/bhilburn/powerlevel9k.git ~/.oh-my-zsh/custom/themes/powerlevel9k

Step-4: Installing powerline fonts

cd ~
git clone https://github.com/powerline/fonts.git
cd fonts
./install.sh

Step:5: Making sure to start the zsh shell when logging in

sudo usermod -s /bin/zsh shashi

Step-6: Restart the shell

source ~/.zshrc

[Optional] Step-7: My Custom Powerlevel9k configuration

vi ~/.zshrc
